It’s been a while between photo posts, but we’re ready to share the madness again!

First up, we have some heavy metal brothers from Brazil with Jackie Slaughter of Canadian band Skull Fist:

Awesome work guys, and two beers towards our total.

Next up, two pics were submitted to our Flickr group by Mirjam Otto. Both taken in a place I know and love very well – the Hamburg Ballroom. Unfortunately embedding of the photos has been disabled so you’ll have to visit Flickr to see them – but I’m still going to count the two frosty beverages towards our total (it’s not cheating, honest).

Our esteemed One Million Beers contributor and Goddess of Metal As Fuck, Biodagar, contributed the next two photos to the flickr pool. She explains about the image on the left:

I’d just come from a day in Corporate Land, and the shirt I was made to put over my dress because the dress just ain’t metal.”

You’re plenty metal enough for us hun!

The image of the right features Biodagar with Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder at their recent Adelaide show. I’m not sure what’s going on, but there’s beer, metalheads and horns being thrown, so I’m sure it’s all above board.

Beers at the Ellises' Me & Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder

Count two more brews towards the total. Counting the three beers from last week’s “Contributor’s Edition” photo post, that means we can add six more beers to our running total, bringing it to 188.

So until next time, keep submitting those photos, keep drinking up and most importantly, stay metal \m/

This time around we have contributions from our three site contributors. First of all, the mighty MadMan recently attended the Download Festival at Donington Park, UK. To make all the rest of us insanely jealous, he sent through this photo of himself enjoying a beverage which I’m led to believe is Danish brew Tuborg:

While he was off checking out bands like Megadeth, Motorhead and Lamb of God, myself and the lovely Biodagar were enjoying a weekend in my hometown of Perth, Western Australia. Among other things, we visited the grave of hard rock legend Bon Scott in Fremantle and drank a beer in honour of all things AC/DC, and of course had a photo taken to commemorate the occasion:

That’s me (Goatlady) on the left, and Biodagar on the right. We’re drinking VB Raw, a new take on an Australian classic and not a bad drop.

What amazingly metal things have you been up to? Send us the evidence!

Boys, beer and metal!

This time around, the submissions are all boys! Ladies, where are you?

First up, Illinois Bob sends in this photo, explaining “Bob, Matt, and Jeff tip one back for Metal, while playing some” — that’s what we like to see, guys!

Next up we have two submissions from Aussie metalhead Gus (@Biomech_) — writing some riffs and chugging back a beer (or three) — on ya mate!

And finally, Eddie Jacobsen shares these pics, first backstage at Voxhall, Denmark where his band SIC performed with Hatesphere in 2009, and then showing us how they like to party! Thanks Eddie, that’s what we like too!

My little eye spies 30 beery beverages in this lot… and although math is not my strong point, I’m pretty sure that means our tally is now at 182 beers, or 0.182% of the way to one million beers. Or, in the esteemed words of the lovely Biodagar, we’re approximately one “poofteenth” towards the total! But don’t be discouraged, there’s a lot of beer in this world, a lot of metal, and we’re patient people. Drink up!

The world’s most metal beer?

Metal festivals tend to have at least one beer sponsor but more often than not, it’s some kind of piss weak lager that you drink all day without feeling the effects. Let’s be honest; there’s nothing particularly metal about drinking a can of Fosters. However, Britain’s Wells Brewery might have created the world’s most metal beer:

The awesome silver and jet black bottle may make it look like a Dimmu Borgir-issue butt-plug, but if you look closely…

From Satan’s very own stock!

This is the world’s most metal beer — any challengers?

The next two submissions came from Hubert, without any information about where they were taken, but those are some good Polish beers that Hubert and his mates are drinking:

And finally for this week, Juan Briones from Santiago, Chile sends us a picture of him raising a beer to metal on his drummer’s birthday:

Horns up! I count 63 beers in this set. Added to last week’s 89, that gives us a grand total of 152 beers thus far, which puts us at 0.152% of the way to our goal of one million beers. Better keep on drinking folks, and keep sending in those awesome submissions.

Right, all this posting is making me thirsty! Off to crank up some metal and crack open a nice cold Phoenix!

Our very first submissions!

One week after the initial concept for One Million Beers for Metal was drunkenly conceived, here’s our first round of submissions. These are from our Flickr group and feature some European metal festivals and founder Biodagar’s weekend aftermath.

There were also three submissions from the site — Troy from Adelaide giving Simey some metal brother love while Ree throws the horns at Troy’s birthday bash in 2009; Dill The Devil, music editor at OneMetal.com, about to consume a can of Strongbow in the name of metal at the Download 2008 music festival at Castle Donington; and @Biomech and the crew: @clone6, @bullie666, @darcyvargas — drinking up before the Mastodon gig.

I’ve carefully counted and I believe that there are 89 beers in these photographs (41 single beers, plus two cartons being transported). So we are now officially 0.0089% of the way to our goal.

Thanks everyone — horns up guys! Can’t wait to see even more next week! Drink up!
